Presbytery of North Queensland
Outback Airstrip Adventure
29th June - 14th July 2019

Come and join us a trip to the outback!!

The recent outback floods have caused extensive damage to a lot of outback infrastructure:
roads, fences, railways and airstrips and so on.
While we can't fix everything, we can do something!!

In 2009 and 2011, the McKay Patrol undertook a project to create, extend or repair a number of airstrips across the outback. Many of these airstrips are now damaged and need some simple repair work.
- Tyres that mark the edge of the strip need to be realigned and repainted white.
- Other strips need to be smoothed out and have some damaged areas repaired.

Here's an opportunity for you, your family and your congregation to make a difference to the lives of property people while also experiencing the wonder and beauty of our Queensland outback.

The work is not hard, but the need is great!

If you've got bored teenagers over the school holidays, why not bring or send them on a trip of a lifetime!

If you can raise some money from your local setting, we can buy tins of paint and paintbrushes in Cloncurry...its that easy!

Below are 2 videos created by the team who came out almost 10 years ago.
In them you will see what's involved and what an adventure this can be.
